book sling, garys b day gift and thaumatrope
So T hates the book sling, OF COURSE! But we like it a lot. We can now load the sling with whatever books we want that night and avoid the 11th hour begging for the Lorax.
We made thaumatropes and the girls liked them more than I thought they would. Success!

There are tape tricks and then there are dysfunctional parenting tape tricks
So we tried the tape trick at home as blogged about at Beansprouts and apartment therapy here

and it worked really well!
But we came up with our own tape trick that works even better!
Tess was so upset by the explanation of bedtime tape trick that Abigail came up with a better solution. Abby has been saving the day lately with inventive ways to distract and please her sister. When she say Tess was upset, I mean she was having NONE OF IT. "That is not the tape trick!" Like how dare we come up with something so un-fun. So....enter the "tape me to the wall Daddy" tape trick. The goal was to tape them as high up the wall as possible, but mom (me) got nervous. The girls pretended to have super human strength and escaped their spiderwebs. We acted out the book "Spider and the Fly". Their favorite part is when the fly gets trapped. Funny monkeys.....
